Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.

The Home Tour is our only CDM PTA fundraiser each year. This year, we were not able to have the Home Tour in October (due to Covid-19); but are planning a Virtual Home Tour in February. Proceeds from the Home Tour help organize and fund programs to enhance the daily activities of CdM students and teachers. With all the challenges of 2020, continuing to support our students and staff is especially important.
We’re looking for volunteers from each of the CdMHS/CdMMS neighborhoods to act as a neighborhood captain for that area. This is an easy way to volunteer, takes very little time, and can be done from home. The Neighborhood Captains are responsible for providing information to their communities (whether it be through a neighborhood portal, e-mail, etc.) about the opportunity to place a neighborhood ad or pet ad in our Home Tour publication and to help publicize the Home Tour. We’ll provide neighborhood captains with text to copy and paste, and all ads will be placed directly through the Home Tour website (so Captains won’t have to deal with ads or money).
We have a few volunteers, but are still looking for Neighborhood Captains for the following communities:
Balboa Island / Lido Isle
Belcourt
Big Canyon
Bonita Canyon
CdM & Flower Streets
Fashion Island Villas
Harbor Cove
One Ford Road
Seaview
Spyglass
Harbor Ridge
Newport North
If you’re interested in volunteering, please contact either Margie Torres (margietorres026@gmail.com) or Adela Tavira (taviraa1@gmail.com), thank you for your continued support of our school and our kids.
If your kids are getting antsy and looking for some safe ways to have fun, be entertained and utilize their creativity, we are searching for student musicians and artists to participate in the tour. Please check out the flyer for more details, as this is a great way for them to add to their “resumes” while supporting our school.
In a normal year, up to 2,000 attendees flock to a curated selection of unique homes in the area. Tour guests come from far and near to revel in home design trends and experience a fully programmed day with friends.
This year will be a little different of course, but we plan to stir just as much enthusiasm and joy with a streaming event in early 2021. As always, each home will feature local merchants temporarily furnishing tabletop and floral items to flatter and enhance their surroundings.
Home Tour is the only PTA fundraiser each school year, benefitting CDM students with essential resources and programs. In this challenging climate, PTA-funded technology grants and supplemental teacher training are more vital than ever.
Stay tuned as there is so much more to come!

We understand that some parents may feel disconnected from their child’s school experience due to the Pandemic. If you are a new family to CdM, you maybe haven’t even set foot on our campus! Not to worry. New parent or not, our PTA is here to help get you connected and “in the know.”
We are offering CdM 101, a program designed to give parent-to-parent tips on navigating all-things school. Our presentation will include campus Covid protocols, people and places to know as well as general how-to when it comes to the nurse, attendance, counselor, the cafeteria, parking, etc. We will also take questions.
This parent program is open to everyone, Wednesday, February 3 from 5:00-6:00pm via zoom. More details coming soon!
