As our nominating committee begins their search for next year’s PTA Board for CdM Middle and High, we are looking for moms and dads, including up-and-comers joining us from elementary schools, who are interested in volunteering.
Our Board gives parents a unique opportunity to get to know our principals, school board rep and campus personnel. It’s a great way to have your finger on the pulse of what is happening on our campus and to provide input as needed. Being a Board member involves attending two meetings per month in addition to performing the duties for each position.
We have multiple vacancies coming up but one of our most specific needs is a volunteer with the time and talent to be our Treasurer. This is a big job, in comparison to other positions, and compared to the elementary school version, as we have a larger budget and many expenditures due to our Home Tour.
We have many wonderful opportunities for both middle and high school parents to be involved on our campus-some little jobs, like committees and/or onetime events and some bigger ones with monthly meetings and obligations.
The Home Tour committee has volunteer opportunities all year long for middle and high school parents, from helping with planning and coordinating the event to day-of jobs like being a docent, setting up/cleaning up and delivering items.
We have committee positions for both one-time events (Academic Awards Night, Grad Night, Holiday Party, Sea King Pride Luncheon), as well as monthly hospitality and front office greeter positions.
Our Middle School specific events–the Tailgate, Veterans’ Hospital visit, and Mother-daughter Fashion Show-will need chair people as well as committee members.
If you or someone you know might be interested any volunteer positions, please let us know.
