Advanced Placement Exams are coming soon! Your students are aware of this and here is how you can help! We have approximately 80 openings for proctors during the tests which are scheduled for Monday, May 6- 16. Many hands make light work! Teacher/Staff Appreciation Event needs volunteers to bring drinks and to help with the event. The luncheon will take place on Friday, May 3. Please sign up to help at the link below!

The CDM PTA is offering 24 scholarships in the amount of $500! This is a wonderful opportunity for your senior to have some extra money as they head off into their next chapter. It’s only available to CDM Seniors who are current members of the CDM PTA. It’s very easy to sign up for only $10 at www.cdmpta.org.

Veteran’s Brunch Thank You!

Each year, the CdM PTA works with the middle school to create a special holiday event at the Long Beach VA Hospital. Everything had to be different this year but we are so happy and grateful with how the event occurred after all!
Thanks to all of the generous cash donations from our CDM community, PTA was able to provide 80 individually boxed Boston Market lunches to our veterans along with the generous donation of 80 sweatshirts from Fodada.
Thanks to the Ms. Lindt, middle school drama, and all the students who participated in creating a magical talent show. You can see their wonderful show HERE.
Finally thanks go to Mr. Dobyns who helped organize the talent show and the heart felt written letters the students put together. Read the letters HERE!
In their thank you card, the Veterans of Long Beach just wanted to say thank you very much for all your support and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year!

CDMMS Veteran’s Holiday Brunch and Talent Show

The 26th Annual Middle School Vets Holiday Brunch and Talent Show is still happening in 2020!
When: December 8th, 2020
What’s new and what’s the same? Well, nothing is the same other than we are still celebrating our Vets in 2020!
Talent Show: It will be a prerecorded virtual event that the VA will be able to broadcast to the Vets in the hospital. Please contact Mr. Dobyns and ASB for how to participate or click on the links below.

Brunch: We will have hot individually prepared meals delivered to the hospital from a restaurant. The VA is not allowing any visitors, so, unfortunately, the CdM community cannot spread our holiday cheer in person and serve our Vets like we have done for 25 years.
How to get involved: Please go to CDMPTA.ORG and donate any amount of money to cover the cost of some yummy hot meals for our Vets on December 8th. Usually, we would have you donate your homemade goodies and treats AND we raise enough donations for many hams, turkeys, and desserts, but this year this is the best way to bring the Long Beach Veterans community some holiday cheer.
Please help make this the Vets Holiday Brunch and Talent Show something special in 2020!
